Building my personal website was my first hands-on experience working with WordPress beyond simply using a website built with it.

Since most of my background is in software development, I am more accustomed to working directly with code and having precise control over the structure and behavior of an application. Working with WordPress introduced me to a different approach based on themes, templates, blocks, and reusable content.

One of the main challenges was understanding how templates affect the layout of posts and how WordPress separates the content itself from the way that content is displayed. After experimenting with the Site Editor, I was able to customize the homepage, create a dedicated WordPress Credits category, and configure the site to display my posts in a cleaner way.

The experience helped me better understand how WordPress approaches content management and why it can be useful for people who want to build and maintain websites without developing everything from scratch.

There are still parts of WordPress I need to become more familiar with, but building the site gave me a much better understanding of how the platform is structured.
